anxiety

Mouth dry, eyes heavy,

heart pounding, thoughts unsteady.

Shaking hands, antsy feelings,

broken mind, shattered meaning.

Triggers set, traps awaiting,

bad instincts, reactions pending.

Sweaty palms, gun dropped,

couldn't aim, confidence shot.

Emotions bleeding out,

numbness ascending,

never saw my beginning...

now I witness my ending.
