Society has a habit of giving power to the wrong people. People trust confident, successful people. However, toxic people with bad intentions are usually the ones who give off that inflection of success and confidence. I knew someone who was wrongfully given just enough power to make an impact on a child's life. For some, this impact was positive and fulfilling. However, for most it seemed as though they walk away with unhealthy emotions that turn the person they were supposed to become...into a monster. And a self-loathing monster is always the most destructive. They put themselves and others into toxic places, because they don't care. But in the end can you really blame 'em? The person who turned them into self-loathing beings wasn't in charge until someone else gave them power.
